Infotech’s Lumber Inventory Management extension for Microsoft Dynamics 365
Business Central provides specialized functionality for truss manufacturers and
wood product producers. The solution enables procurement of lumber by truckload
or train-car bundle and supports conversion into industry-specific units of measure,
including board feet (BDFT), thousand board feet (MBF), and MBF cost. It also
accommodates Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) tracking and integrates with
construction design software for process automation.
The extension enhances Business Central’s Item Card and Purchase Order
workflows by introducing attributes such as lumber size, grade, species, and bundle
traceability. It supports real-time inventory visibility, cost accounting, and valuation
through detailed reporting tools, including Bundle List Reports, Yard Reports, and
Truss Information Reports. Barcode tagging and lot tracking ensure traceability
from bundle to individual pieces.
Infotech’s solution addresses gaps in standard ERP functionality for the Lumber and
Building Materials (LBM) industry, offering a scalable platform for accurate
inventory control and operational efficiency. Integration with third-party design
